Copy text or a selection from the right-click menu
Last updated
Need a paragraph, a price list or a legal block in Figma, with its typography intact? Select it on the page and copy it from the right-click menu: no popup, no capture to configure.
How to copy from the right-click menu
- Sign in to the extension once, from its popup.
- On any webpage, select the text you want with your mouse.
- Right-click the selection and choose:
- Copy Rich Text for Figma: copies the text with its fonts, sizes, colors, bold and italic, and hyperlinks.
- Copy Selection for Figma, to keep the layers of the selection (frames, text layers and images): coming soon.
- Paste in Figma with ⌘V or Ctrl+V.
A message on the page confirms the copy: Copying rich text for Figma…
Why does the right-click copy say to log in? Copy Rich Text for Figma converts the selection on html.to.design’s servers. Sign in from the extension popup first.
Troubleshooting
- Select some text to copy first. The command copies the text you selected: select it, then right-click.
- A selection can’t be copied from an embedded frame or from a text field. Use Capture Selection instead.
- Log in to html.to.design from the extension popup first. See Sign in to the extension.
- You have no imports left. Each copy counts as an import. Upgrade to keep copying.
